Introduced in 2008, Basic Consumer Option is a high deductible health plan and a sub-option of Basic Option available in limited Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plan Service areas. It provides comprehensive health insurance coverage plus a tax-advantage way to help you build savings for future medical expenses through a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
