Media Room

Helping you understand and manage your health care benefits is important to us. Whether it is knowing how much you pay for covered services, improving your health, locating a provider, developing an exercise routine, or just having your medical and pharmacy claim information at your fingertips, www.fepblue.org is the place to go.

In 2009, we introduced three online tools available free-of-charge for our members:

  • WalkingWorks® supports an active lifestyle and offers a pedometer and participant walking guide at no charge to you. You can register on www.fepblue.org and start walking today.
  • The Blue Health Assessment is a quick online tool to help you look at your health status and habits. You get personalized feedback identifying potential health risks, providing suggestions for actions and talking points to help you discuss any health issues with your physician.
  • SnapforSeniors is also available on our web site to assist you in locating senior housing opportunities to help reduce the stress associated with placement in these situations. If you haven't tried these tools yet, you might be missing some of the value-added services of your Service Benefit Plan coverage.

New For 2010

We are expanding our library of online tools on www.fepblue.org for 2010 to include a Personal Health Record (PHR) and an Online Explanation of Benefits.

Personal Health Record:

MyBlue Personal Health Record provides a snapshot of your and your family's health. It is a secure and interactive way to access, store and up-date your health related information online for each family member. In addition, we add information to the PHRs as we process claims for covered family members under your enrollment. Creating and using the PHR gives you an active role in managing your health.

All of these tools make taking an active role in your health and the health of your family easier. Using the tools is the first step to a more informed and healthier you. The tools also open the door to a whole new way to view your health with you in charge of your health care decisions.

Online Explanation Of Benefits:

Starting on January 1, 2010, you can access your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) information online using the Customer eService feature. Click on the Member Claims and Eligibility link and enter the range of dates you would like to view. Then click on the EOB link. You can view, download and print the EOB.

Also beginning January 1, 2010, you can opt-in to paperless EOBs and only access your EOBs electronically through www.fepblue.org. This means that you will not receive any paper EOBs from the local Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plan. You just log in to Customer eService on our web site, and click on the EOB Mailing Preference link. Once you sign-up for electronic EOBs you can use the Member Claims and Eligibility link to view your EOB information.
