The vision network for FEP BlueVision and the Affinity program is specific to routine vision care and is different from the network for your medical plan.
It is important to know when you enroll in this Plan, benefits are available as described in the Plan's Federal brochure, but the continued participation of any one doctor hospital or other provider cannot be guaranteed. Also, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan is prohibited from providing benefits for services performed by a debarred or suspended provider.

Members of the Service Benefit Plan can obtain general procedural medical cost information as an informational and educational service. Based on the selections made, you will be able to view general information about the historical range of medical costs incurred to treat certain conditions.

Hospital Advisor
Members of the Service Benefit Plan can obtain access to independent information on hospitals by procedure or diagnosis within a specific area. Measures displayed for these hospitals are: the number of patients treated at each hospital (patients/yr), the percentage of patients who died (mortality), the percentage of patients who developed problems (complications) and the average number of days people stay in each hospital (length-of-stay).

Blue Distinction® is a designation awarded by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality healthcare under objective selection criteria.
